I think our lines connect through John Robinson(Robeson, Robison) of Tennesee. He was my Great, Great Great Grandad, and Lewis Bledsoe Robinson was my Great Great Grandad all of tennesee. http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~famlytre/JnoRobinson.html, this was done by cousin Bobby Wadsworth in Dallas.

Thanks for your Bledsoe website. I’m descended from Anne Bledsoe and Sherwood Reynolds and was wondering if you have another information concering them. Glen

    • knhknh says:

Sorry. I do not have any information about Anne and Sherwood Reynolds.

    • Larry Herrin says:

Sherwood Reynolds was in early 1800s Pulaski Co. KY coming from Hawkins (Grainger Co., TN). Along with him in both places was Amos Reynolds, Sr.

My ancestor, William Reynolds were with both of them as well as Matthew Reynolds. They were closely related to the Lawson family. In fact Mary Reynolds who lived in Hawkins Co., was married to Jacob Lawson from the pension records of the Rev. War. William Reynolds was the adminstrator of the Estate of Thomas Lawson, s/o Martin Lawson in 1826 Pulaski Co. KY. William Reynolds was a neighbor to William Lawson. MArtin Lawson was b. Surry Co., NC. Brothers of William were Moses Reynolds (d. Franklin Co., TN) and Jesse Reynolds (d. Blount Co., AL) as well as surely others.

Sherwood Reynolds had a son (not researched) named Amos. I suppose this Amos is that son. Since his son William died in Dickson Co., TN it’s obvious that my William (d. 1832 Pulaski Co. KY is not him; wife Mary ____). I suspect that Sherwood didn’t die back in North Carolina in 1777 as reported, but came on to TN and KY with his wife and then she (Ann Bledsoe) moved on to Dickson Co., TN where she died. The names William, Jesse, and Moses Reynolds of the same era are prevalent in Henry Co., VA and my family was from Virginia, as was Sherwood. Several of the Pulaski Co. Reynolds bout their land there from men who had been in Henry Co., VA previously. One problem: the Moses and Jesse of Henry Co. stayed there. There may have been records of my line there as well, and the names confused. Any help would be appreciated!

  5. scott cracraft says:

I am descended from Isaac Bledsoe and Katherine Montgomery Bledsoe. The date of birth (1706) is wrong. Should be about 1736. Date of death correct. Information of Katherine correct. You may have the wrong Isaac who may have been born in 1706 but the one married to Katherine was born about 1735. Hope to hear from you.

    • Frank Edwards says:

      To Scott Cracraft:
Do you happen to have a William Green Bledsoe (1817-1859) in your line? The information I have indicates that he was the son of Isaac Moore Bledsoe (1703-1760). William Green Bledsoe died in Gibson County, TN. I’d like to verify his lineage in previous generations. I have him connected back to Lewis Bletsoe (1600-1638) but an not sure of the accuracy.
      Thank you very much.

  6. Colleen says:

The one thing everyone needs to remember while researching the Bledsoe’s or any family is that there are several Jacobs, Abrahams, Isaacs, Anthonys, Lewis’, etc., etc. One of the problems I am running into is that so many people are researching the family history and when they do not compare the correct names with the correct dates, they input info wrong online and then someone else goes by their info, etc, etc. Everyone needs to make sure they research and make sure all info is correct before they input all their information. There is something wrong or different on almost every site and it makes it tough for everyone to know whether they have the correct info or not. I am running into that same problem when I am researching. Just like the paragraph above, 1735 or 1736, typos are so easy to do and its easy to miss when inputing and saving the info. Just a note to everyone to be careful so that everyone can have all the correct information needed and nothing else gets mixed-up online.

Hi, I am looking for John Bledsoe, he was supposed to be born in Tenn. in 1820 or around there. He married Sarah Smith in 1845. One daughter was named Eveline Bledsoe. Eveline married George W. Sampson. They lived in Marshall Co. WV. From there John and Sarah went back to Izard, Arkansas. I would love to know something about John Bledsoe and Sarah. Thanks.
